January 2010 Dear Patrons, For those of you that come and read this on my website, this is all I have left of Papa Paul's. The economic conditions did not allow me to succeed in this location here in Temecula. I love Temcula. My location in Chino had trellises of grape leaves and vines. Although I didn't create the same motif for the Jefferson location, it has always been my intention to do so and if all the forces are willing, we will be back with a new Papa Paul's location here in Temecula with all my original interior designs. Please be patient and please give me some feed back at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so that I know that you read this letter. If I know that you read this letter, then I will continue to write and post on this website. Thank you and until next time, Frank Papa Paul's Pizza & Restaurant
4th Letter, September 21st., 2009
Dear Patrons, I have been very quiet since my last letter to you. Much has happened since I last wrote to you. As you know, we were forced to move from the old location. We were fortunate to find this location, so near to the old one. Here at the new location, the dining room is very cozy. We have brown carpet and the same tables and chairs as we had before. The lighting is very comfortable and it isn't overly noisy. It has been since mid August that I have been doing most of the cooking in the kitchen. The former cook is no longer with us. Although the move was unfortunate, we no longer have the bad sewer smell we had there. That whole shopping center has the problem. We, on the other hand, here at the new location, have not. Our new landlord replaced the old air conditioner and so those of you that were here in August, you can now be assured that it will be very comfortable as you dine. We did lose our pizza ovens and with it, the ability to make all of our Italian favorites. I have great hopes that as we get established here at the new location, that we will put in place some decent sized ovens and get our Italian cuisine back. We do have, on the blackboard special, an Italian dish every day. It depends what I make but it will be something like spaghetti, lasagna or manicotti and other Italian choices. Call and check to see what is our Italian special of the day. We are planning a 50% off day on October the 15th., I hope that you will be able to join us. We want as many people as possible to know that we have moved to the new location and for them to see how very nice and different it is from the other location. Debbie is always with us for breakfast so you will be able to exchange some conversation with her. Please tell as many people as possible of our new location and our 50% OFF day on October 15, 2009. Thank you and I hope to see you here at the restaurant. Frank Salvo Chef de Cuisine/Papa Paul's Restaurant
3rd Letter, February 24th, 2009 Dear Patrons, I hope that you had some very nice holidays. I know that many of you have not made it back to the restaurant as regular as we both would wish but please know that I understand very well. Our country is in a very difficult financial situation and we must use our patriotism to support it as much as possible. I know that there are politicians that don't have our best interest at heart and then there are the politicians who want to do right for us but the present political machine does not allow them to do it. Yes there should be change but I'm sure you understand that it is difficult to get change when both parties are pulling the opposite direction. As we have experienced, the only time there was unity towards this enormous problem was during the elections. But now it is back to business as usual. What can we do? For those that can do it, just go out there and live. For those that cannot do what they did before like going to breakfast every morning, do what you can but do not close the door to the world. You can come and visit here at the restaurant and buy a cup of coffee. Enjoy the atmosphere, you need change and this is one of them. Exercise is good so take those nice walks outside or in the mall. When I was young I used to enjoy taking the bus, not anymore, but it would be fun to do it again. Not all the time but at least once a week. This will get you out and about for little money and that will keep you healthier physically and mentally because it is better than staying home and doing nothing. Your going out will help stimulate the city, their workers and Temecula is beautiful. I know many of you/us don't have anykind of money to spend but you still can do much with very little of the money. You know that we give coffee refills. We need to take care of ourselves. If you need someone to talk to about anything, I sometimes am free during the day. So please call me at the restaurant and ask to talk to me directly and tell the hostess that you are a patron that read my letter and that you are calling for me. Try it, you'll like it. I have some plans for the restaurant but I am feeling the consquences of the economy and I will make those changes to the restaurant later on. I have an experienced cook that began working for me a few weeks ago and He is more consistant with the way the food comes out. Consistency is something that we cannot do all the time because everything is made from scratch. The pizza sometimes comes out with a little funny look because it is hand tossed and made. But what is consistent is the flavor. If that ever changes, please let me know. I don't have any other news to tell you about except that I want to convey that we Americans are a very strong race and we will prevail over this economy. And I also wish that my prayer is answered in praying for you all. I hope you do well. Until next time, I am sincerely, Frank Salvo your chef de cuisine art Papa Paul's Restaurant
2nd Letter December 19th, 2008 Dear Patrons, Another year is coming to an end and we celebrate it. We celebrate everything including the coming of the new year and the leaving of the old year. We celebrate our traditions, some Hannakuh, some Christmas and some others. We must acknowledge the existence of all the people we live with here on earth and especially here at home, our United States of America. By acknowledging our melting pot, make sure we give our neighbors elbow room. We are lucky to have our democracy and we exercised it just this past November. We all spoke and the loudest voice prevailed and now, we all behave as one again in the eyes of the world. Taking care of business at home is always difficult but we eventually take care of it. Those that experience financial difficulties during this trying economic time, I guarantee it will pass. Everything must pass. And we, as Americans, always, and I mean ALWAYS, come back. And when we come back we will be stronger than before and no one will be left behind because we are one people and one country and it is in our nature that in this universe, we come back better and stronger. Keep the faith and don't look at one bad person in our country but look at the whole country as a whole. Let us support our efforts because it is those efforts that will make our economy come back as was before and better for everyone. I particularly want to address our seniors that frequent Papa Paul's Restaurant to remind you that when we can't see ahead anymore, our children see for us. When there are unsolvable problems that grip us, our children will find the solution to set us free. And especially for our government, when there are unsurmountable problems that appear unfixable, the younger generation will have a solution. Stay in good health for with health most can be achieved. For friends of Papa Paul's, new and old, look at the good times we had together, nobody can ever take that away from us and if you should be some of the unfortunate with a dreaded illness, do not fear. Strive forward as best you can and take with you the peace of the love that we have for each other and the love you have had with many others including your family. We all support you too. May you walk this earth with infinite blessings knowing that one day you will have it all. Papa Paul's is looking forward to this coming New Year because more people will have heard about us. They will know that we are there not only for breakfast and sandwiches but for lunch and full service dinners, and we celebrate special events. This coming New Year's Eve, will give us at Papa Paul's, an opportunity to serve you a special celebration dinner, this time it will only be 5 courses. We celebrate Valentine's Day as well and we try to make it as special as is possible. As a romanticist, I understand special dinners and special occasions and I prepare as such. I hope that you will be able to join us and experience this Papa Paul's Restaurant special dinner celebration. Hoping for a better and prosperous New Year, we at Papa Paul's Restaurant, wish you all HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Please be safe. Sincerely, Frank Salvo, executive chef and co-owner
1st letter November 28, 2008 Dear Patron, Thank you for visiting our web site. Thanksgiving just passed and I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I hope you got to stuff yourself with lots of turkey and the goodies that come with the traditional dinner. If you are one the ones that feels hungry after they swore they would not eat for at least a week, then let me share this hearsay about that. I'm not a doctor so I cannot say that this is for sure or not but I heard say that when your body system has low or high level of sugar, such as after eating a Thanksgiving meal or, during the rest of the year, when you just ate Chinese food, the body will feel hungry. I have been in that situation and it has happened to me. My family had the early version of Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, 1PM, and by 9PM, my wife and I had to make sure the left over turkey in the fridge we had put away 6 hours earlier, was still good so we had some, of course, with mashed yams and cranberry sauce. It was very good. After the big meal at 1PM we still had room for a few more slices of turkey that night. Try to notice on the next big intake of sweet foods. I am starting to send all the registered users and email list patrons, savings coupons to have you come and visit the dining room more odten. I hope that I can please your taste. Since I am in a hurry to get to the next issue, I will end this letter now but I will come back with more information. Thank you
Frank Salvo
